Gokhowal
was first developed before partition of Indian 2
miles away from Railway Station Anna Pacca in
District Faisalabad, Pakistan by some people who
migrated from another village of same name from
Gokhowal situated in India. Later on two
families from that village developed found a
good agricultural place near Faisalabad City and
they started to migrate to new place 121 JB,
about five miles from Faisalabad City.
There are main three families living in this
village. "Lumber" family headed by Choudhary
Gulam Nabi Lumberdar (late), "Member" family
headed by Choudry Sadar Din, Badar Din and Allah
Din, three brother of same family, all are now
deceased and "Haji family", headed by Ali
Ahmad Haji who also constructed the Darbar, in
his land, now situated onMillat Road, in the
east of village. Mostly people are from ARIAN
caste. Others are also there but in minority.
Religion wise mostly people belong to WAHABI
muslik, then SUNNI, then AHMADI and then
CHRISTIAN.
Doctor Khalil Ahmad (late) Doctor Fazal
Karim (Late) are the prominent persons who served the villagers in
medical profession since after the development of village. Dr. Fazal
Karim shifted to city near Bole-di-Juggi developing a new Mohallah
called Karimm Nagar but now famous as Mustafa Abad.
Familiy members of Dr.
Fazal Karim, Rashid Karim and Rafat Karim are
running "Karim Medical Store, Gole Aminpur
Bhawana Baza in front of Ahmadyya Mosque while
other have migrated to UK. Similarly family
members of Dr. Khalil Ahmad, "Rashid Khalil,
Muneer Ahmad are running their family business
while Toqeer Ahmad and Sajjad Khalil have
migrated to Swizerland".
Millat Road was
constructed in 1972-74 which created a new era
of development of village in education and city
culture. The erection of TV Tower and its
augration by Presiden Zia-ul-Haq was another
remarkable element of this village.
A small extension in
planned village, later on developed on
Government's land calling CHANGAR Mollah and
Nasir Colony.
Later on development of
Millat town, in its North and East have great
effect on its culture and development.
Bahari Coloy, called
Noor-ul-Amin Colony was established in about
1975 when as a result of agreement between
Pakistan and bangladesh, about 200 families were
given place here to settle. Most of these
families have migrated to Karachi and now few
families are here.
